GARY H. KOON

Gary Hilton Koon, of Rt. 2, West Columbia, died Saturday at the Richland Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late Jessie James Koon and Evelyn Medlin Koon. Formerly of Richland County, he had lived in Lexington for the past seven years. Mr. Koon was a World War II veteran and a retired employe of the State Highway Department. He was a member of the Living Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annie D. Koon of West Columbia; a step-daughter, Mrs. Bonny Sweat of West Columbia; and a sister, Mrs. Brown C. Ross of Elgin.

Services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Tony Sanders and the Rev. A. L. Wood. Burial will be in the Union Baptist Churchyard in Elgin.

Services for Gary H. Koon will be at 4 p.m. today in Thompson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Tony Sanders and the Rev. A. L. Wood, with burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery at Elgin.

Mr. Koon, 57, of Rt. 2, West Columbia, died Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Pete Amick, Norris Derrick, James Padgett, Mitchell Fleming, Richard Reese and Ronald Reese.
