On Thursday, September 9, 2021, Louisa Christine “Chris” Benton Hutchinson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 71. Chris was born on November 30, 1949 in Lancaster, SC to Wyatt H. Benton and Haynsworth Pendergrass Benton. On June 24, 1972, she married John William Hutchinson, Jr. They raised two children, Laurie and Lizzie in Colorado Springs, CO, Eagan, MN, Atlanta, GA, and Lancaster, SC.

Chris is survived by her husband of 49 years, John William “Bill” Hutchinson, Jr; daughters, Laurie Hutchinson, of Hickory, NC and Lizzie Wright (Paul), of Lugoff; brother, Charles Benton (Carol), of Savannah, GA and 2 grandsons, Parker and Paxton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.  Rev. Charles Benton will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorial gifts be made to SCOA Cares Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.
