Obituary of J. D. Moore

Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, J.D. Moore, 88, was called to his eternal home on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.  Born in McColl, S.C., he was a son of the late Percy Lee Moore and Kathleen Nobles Moore. Mr. Moore was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Rembert.

J.D. loved spending time with family and friend;, he truly loved woodworking and refinishing furniture; he specially loved building bird houses, fishing, camping and traveling.

Surviving are his children, Catherine Crain (Robert), Nellie Hodge (Ron), James Moore, Loretta Young (Patrick); grandchildren, Rosco Wright, Patrick Jon Young (Sabrina), Kristina Sprague (Toby); great-grandchild, Kyleigh Sprague; and siblings, William Moore, Ruby Gonzales, George Moore, and Rebecca Kuechler.  He was predeceased by sons, Steve Percy Moore, John Moore, Jr.; and siblings, Mary Nunnery, Howard Moore and Geraldine Bayne.

 A graveside service for J.D. Moore, will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Nathan Scott will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
