ELGIN- John Moultrie Nelson, 45, of Elgin, died Thursday at Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

Mr. Nelson was in the hardwood timber business and was born in Kershaw County, son of the late John D. Nelson and Della Jackson Nelson.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Thelma Mae Hornsby Nelson; a daughter Wanda Jane Nelson of the home; a son, John Donald Nelson, U. S. Air Force, Plattsburg, N. Y., three sisters, Mrs. Victoria Barfield and Mrs. Jessie Harris of Elgin and Mrs. Juanita Ross of Lugoff, and four brothers, David Nelson and Jimmy Nelson of Elgin, Bill Nelson of Bamberg and Franklin Nelson of U. S. Army in Germany.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

The body is at Kornegay Funeral Home.
