Dothan E. Jeffers

Dothan Eager Jeffers, 85, of 1718 Carnegie St. died Tuesday.

Born in Elgin, he was the son of the late William Thomas Jeffers and Mary Goff Jeffers. He retired after 28 years with Shakespeare Co. and was a member of Central Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary G. Jeffers; a daughter, Mrs. J. Fred Huiett of Irmo; son, D. E. Jeffers Jr and Paul L. Jeffers, both of Columbia, and Dwight N. Jeffers of Gaston; and a sister, Mrs. Mamie Brown of Elgin.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Memorials my be made to the Central Assembly of God building fund.
