Teachers Enroll in State’s Body

Of an estimated total of 8,700 teaches in the public schools of the state for the 1928-29 scholastic year, 364 were enrolled as members of the State Teachers association during the first week of the school year, according to James P. Coates, secretary of the association.

Twenty-seven schools have already enrolled 100 per cent and the campaign for 100 per cent membership will be continued throughout the school year. It is the aim of the secretary to increase this year the counties in which every teacher was a member of the association.

The following schools had qualified with a 100 per cent membership Saturday;

Abbeville, Adams Run, Barnwell, Blaney, Central school at Central and Central school at Sumter; Edgemore, Enoree Mills, Fairforest, Fort Lawn, Great Falls, Hampton, Hemingway, Keowee, Liberty, Little Mountain, Midway at Cassatt; Mount Croghan, Pine Grove, Sharon, Silverstreet, St. Matthews, Trenton, Walhalla, Ward, Ware Shoals and Westminister.
