ELGIN – Funeral services with Masonic Rites, for James “Jimmy” Hugh Watts, 58, will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Jackson and Rev. Donnie Dixon will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2004 at Kornegay Funeral Home Lugoff Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to Lugoff Lodge #411, Hwy. #1, Lugoff, SC 29078.
Mr. Watts died Saturday, September 4, 2004. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Charlie Smith and Jesse Ruth Wright. Mr. Watts was employed with Richland County, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Lugoff Lodge #411, and the Jamil Shrine Club – Choo – Choo’s.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Watts; children, James H. Watts, Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Lugoff, David Garbade of Elgin, Mark Branham and his wife, Lois, of Elgin, Christopher M. Branham, Sr. and his wife, Michelle, of Columbia, Paul Garbade of Elgin, Art Watts of Columbia, Nica Buhlinger of Elgin, and Andy Watts and his wife, Jackie, of Elgin; 11 grandchildren; sister, Debbie Miles of Blythewood; brothers, Richard Watts, Dawson, Jerry, and Wayne Mitchell, all of Columbia. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Albert Wright; sister, Anne Davis; brother, Ronnie Mitchell, and his Aunt who raised him, Betty Jean Watts.
