Obituary of Irene K. Portee

CASSATT – Graveside service for Irene Kibler Portee, 97, will be held on Tuesday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. in Hyco Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.  The public may view on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.

    Mrs. Portee, wife of the late Hollis Portee, Sr., passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 surrounded by her family. 

    Surviving are her children, Mary Elizabeth Portee Harris Stephens, Ida Bell Portee, Juanita Portee Rockingham, Elliott R. Portee, Ethel Irine Portee Clyburn, Mamie Portee Miller, Bernice Portee Welch, and Little Hollis Portee; brother, Richard Salmond; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by children, Williarlis “Pete” Portee, Sim Seelow Portee and Katie Bell Portee.
