Catfish stew tops menu

They’ll be frying up a fine kettle of fish and stew again this weekend in Elgin during the town’s annual Catfish Stomp.

The 16th festival will be held Saturday in downtown Elgin. This year some of the location sites have been changed.

The catfish stew and fish dinners will be served up in the Blaney Elementary School cafeteria, located one mile from Smyrna Road.

The fun begins at 10 a.m. with a 75-unit parade through downtown Elgin on U. S. 1. The parade will be followed by a carnival, arts and crafts show, auto show, musical and dance performances and the serving of the stew.
