A funeral service for Mary Lee Hutto, 84, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. Bishop Gary Rivas will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 1659 Kershaw Hwy, Camden.
Mary Lee Hutto of Camden was called home to be with our Lord on January 10th, 2022. Born March 21, 1937 in Summerton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rennie M. Robinson and Hattie J. Robinson. She was predeceased by her husband, James D Hutto, Sr. and her brother, Rennie Robinson. Mary Lee was a graduate of Winthrop College, and she retired from DuPont after 35 years of service. She also previously taught elementary school and continued to substitute teach after her retirement.
Mary Lee was a long-time member of the Lyttleton Steet United Method Church where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women and the Ciples, Haile, and Capers Circles. Mary Lee was an avid card player and enjoyed the ladies of the Sumter Shepard’s Center for many years and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved gardening, family, and friends, but she especially loved to laugh and loved her Lord. Mary Lee never met a stranger. She loved life and bringing joy to others.
Survivors include her son, Jim Hutto (Andrea) of Camden, SC; daughter, Susan Hutto Eagerton (David) of Benson, NC.; six grandchildren, Jessica (Jay) Gates, Kristen Hutto, Kelsey Hutto, Lianna Lauricella, Alicia, & Jonathan; eight great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
