M. B. Rabon
CAMDEN – M. Burtis Rabon, 67, died Tuesday at his home in Lugoff.
He had retired in January, 1961.
Mr. Rabon was born in Lugoff, the son of William Rabon and Minnie Burdell Rabon. He attended Kershaw County schools and was a member of Spring Vale Baptist Church.
He was twice married, first to the former Evelyn Branham, who died in 1951.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Kathryn Rabon of Lugoff; three daughters, Mrs. James Faulk of Washington, Mrs. Gerald Geddings of Camden and Mrs. Robert Ryan of Shaw AFB, Sumter; five sons, Furman Rabon and Alfred Rabon of Camden, Lonnie Rabon of Great Falls and Clyde Rabon and Murray Rabon of Lugoff; one step-daughter, Mrs. Marvin Bradley of Kershaw; his stepmother, Mrs. W. C. Gladden of Winnsboro; three brothers, Ben A. Rabon of Lugoff, Glenn Rabon of Cayce and Roy Rabon of Columbia; two half-sisters, Mrs. Eloise Ingle of Winnsboro and Mrs. A. M. Porter of Blaney; five half-brother, Talmadge Rabon of Columbia, Clyde Rabon of Winnsboro, George Rabon of Blaney, Odell Rabon of St. Louis, Mo., and Everett Rabon of Aiken; 14 grandchildren, and three stepchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Spring Vale Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
