Welcome to the memorial page for Aiden Lamonte Norman October 10, 2013 ~ February 9, 2017 (age 3)
Aiden Lamonte Norman was granted his angel wings on February 9, 2017, following a brief illness of childhood cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by his parents, family and friends that Aiden had touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life.
Aiden’s life would seem too short to many; but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he was always saying “No”, his voice always could be heard.
Although Aiden’s illness made him appear fragile, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage, he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. Aiden attended the Sunshine House on Clemson Road where he enjoyed playing and learning with his friends. He could spend hours watching his cartoons and with SpongeBob SquarePants being his favorite. His favorite places were Chuck E. Cheese, Edventure, the zoo and McDonald’s. He enjoyed playing with his sisters and his toys, dancing, taking pictures, and helping his parents shop at Publix. Aiden thoroughly enjoyed helping with household chores, especially the laundry. He loved the color orange and listening to music made him smile.
With Aiden’s passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his winning smile, he will forever remain in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, we are able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents. We are so thankful Aiden’s sisters and brothers can hold dear the memory of Aiden’s gentle spirit.
Aiden leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Aiden’s love extends to his wonderful physicians and nurses. There is a special place in our hearts for Palmetto Health Richland Children’s Hospital where Aiden was able to survive some of his toughest medical challenges. He will be dearly missed by all his special caregivers at the Palmetto Health Richland Children’s Hospital. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Aiden with love and dignity in his life and also in his passing.
Aiden is survived by his loving parents, Lakeisha Coleman and Aaron Norman; sisters Jada Stokes and Zaria Glover; Brothers Aaron Norman Jr. and Adrian Norman; Paternal grandparents, Joe L White (Charlene) and the late Roberta Coleman, paternal grandparents, Albert Harris and Gladys Norman; several aunts and uncles; and a host of cousins, friends and loved ones who were blessed to have known him.
