Funeral services for Janie McKay Smith, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church, 1875 Antioch Road, Camden, SC 29020. Rev. Danny Hedgepath will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00PM, 1 hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church.
Janie passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022. The daughter of the late Robert M. McKay and Lottie Grigsby McKay.
Janie is survived by her daughters, Barbara R. Shiver (Wayne), of Camden, Nancy A. Rabon, of Camden; grandchildren, Jill Shiver Sheorn (Stephen), Jason Shiver (Misty); great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Sheorn, Ella S. Sheorn and her brother, Wayne McKay (Frances), of Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to her parents, Janie was predeceased by her first husband, Horace E. Rabon and also by her 2nd husband, Fred K. Smith and sisters, Margaret McKay, Sara Watts, Betty Tarkington, Ellen Weaver, Thelma Aries, Bertha Trouille and Frances Lathan.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
