An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Boykin was a retired automobile mechanic and a member of Smyrna Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Blanche Hinson Boykin; a son, Gary Boykin; his mother, three brothers, Herbert F. Boykin of Lugoff, Raymond Boykin of Columbia and Ralph Boykin of Camden; and four sisters, Mrs. Viola Pebley of Chapin and Mrs. Marjorie Steadman, Mrs. Sara Johnson and Mrs. Priscilla McCullough of Columbia.
