ELGIN – Services for Elma Jackson Stoudemire, 72, will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 7, 2003 at Union Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Kenny Pittman will officiate. Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge. Memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church, P.O. Box 116, Elgin, SC 29045.
Mrs. Stoudemire, widow of Lonnie Stoudemire Sr., died Tuesday, March 4, 2003. Born in Blaney, she was a daughter of the late John M.C. Jackson and Aurie Crossland Jackson. She had retired from Thermoid Company and was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Louise Winger of Houston and Dorothea Branham of Blythewood; sons, Gene Strickland of Elgin, Lindsay Strickland of Pickens, Lonnie Stoudemire Jr. of Newberry and David Crowder of Little Mountain; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Annie Hornsby of Lugoff, Frances Branham, Georgia Jackson and Sara McCoy, all of Elgin. She was predeceased by brothers, Woodrow Jackson and James Jackson, sister, Mary Sanders.
