Monette Jones, left, chairman of the deacons, presented Dennis with a plaque for his more than 13 years of service at the church. Joining in the event were Dennis’ wife, Ruth, and daughters Leslie and Lauren. A chaplain major in the S.C. National Guard, Dennis resigned from the church to become chaplain for the Guard’s Family Readiness Group.
