Miss Ruth Newman of Spartanburg is spending the weekend in the city with friends.

Mrs. P. E. Payne and children, Dovie Hyatt Payne and Paul Eugene Payne, Jr. returned to Columbia Friday after a month’s stay in Miami, Fla. Doctor Payne joined his family in Miami for a week and accompanied them home.

Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Bryan and children of South Walker street are spending the weekend in Greenwood with relatives.

The many friends of Miss Thelma Riley of Blythewood will be glad to know she is improving after a week’s illness.

Mrs. James W. Fulmer of Wheat street had as her guests Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Cooke and daughter Betty Cooke, and Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Gilliard, all of Greer.

Mrs. W. B. Evans and Miss Mildred Evans have returned to their home in Blaney after visiting Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Nye in Augusta, Ga.

Mrs. Savannah Goff, Frank Goff and Albert Goff, and Mrs. Alva Hubbard Jones are spending the weekend with Mrs. Goff’s son, William Goff in Gastonia, N. C.
