Mr. and Mrs. Earl Talmadge Bowen of Blaney announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Catherine Bowen, and Charles Emanuel, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Emanuel of Rembert. The wedding is to take place in April.

Bowen – Emanuel Betrothal Told

An interesting announcement is that made today by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Talmage Bowen of Blaney of the betrothal of their daughter, Sarah Catherine and Charles Emanuel, Jr. of Rembert.

Sarah finished Fassifern School for Girls in Hendersonville, N. C., and was graduated from Columbia college. At Fassifern she was in the May court two years, having been May queen her senior year, and at Columbia college was in the May court all four years. She was also on the staff of the college annual, The Columbian. The bride-elect’s mother is the former Sarah Ivey Poovey of Blaney.

Charlie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Emanuel of Rembert, his mother being the former Harriet Saunders of Hagood. He was graduated from Clemson college and served with the army in the European theater during the war. The bridegroom-elect is now associated in business with E. T. Bowen, father of the bride-elect, at Blaney.

Sarah and Charlie are to be married in April.
