Jesse Perry, a young man residing in the rural section of Richland county, has been lodged in the county jail on a charge of larceny of an automobile belonging to a C. A. Donaldson, a business man of Columbia. The car disappeared from in front of the First Baptist church Magistrate Ollie Mefford and Rural Policeman W. T. Marsh, who started an investigation following a report of the theft of Mr. Donaldson’s car, located the machine in a patch of woods near Blaney, according to reports. When they arrived at the spot described in the information reaching them, the machine had been moved, but there was evidence that an automobile had been parked in the woods. Following the trail the offices located the car that they were seeking in a barn on the plantation of young Perry’s father and more investigation resuted in the arrest of the youth on a charge of the theft of the car.
