Funeral services for Marion Thomas David will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Beulah United Methodist Church, 820 Beulah Church Road, Camden, SC 29020.  Rev.  Debra Anderson-Joe will officiate.   Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Clarendon Memorial Gardens, 1237 Bloomville Road Manning, SC 29102.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, 1112 Fair Street, Camden, SC 29020.  Memorials may be made to The Honor Flight, The Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, or Beulah United Methodist Church.

Marion, the son of the late Jesse Thomas David and Pauline Foxworth David, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 9, 2022. 

Marion is survived by his wife, Glynda R. David; daughter Lynda David Terry (Cliff) of Hilton Head, SC; sons Thomas A. David (Pat) of Gainesville, FL and Richard S. David (Debbie) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren Thomas Darrin Phillips, Machele Lee Miller (John), Derek I. David, Krystal Mae David, Matthew H. David, Lee Revere, and Sharon Westergreen; great-grandchildren Colby, Kaden, and Aria; sisters Sue Mims of Greeleyville, SC and Mable Bush (Norman) of Camden, SC; brother Paul David (Barbara) of Lexington, SC. He had 26 nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to his parents, Marion was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel Davis David; sisters Lena Wilson and Ann Hursey; and brothers Lawrence David and Ray David.

Marion very proudly served during WWII as a messenger and runner in the Army.  He landed on Utah Beach days after D-Day. He was responsible for delivering information to and from the front lines.  On June 6th, 2019 Marion was one of 9 WWII veterans to speak at the 75th anniversary of D-Day at Patriots Point in Charleston.

He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Lexington Lodge #152.
