Funeral services for Lawrence E. Motley will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock in the Union Baptist Church near Blaney, conducted by the Rev. Stephen H. Zukor, D. D., and the Rev. George Partridge. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be six nephews: Rembert Sessions, Harry Sessions, Raymond Sessions, Talley Sessions, Ronnie Motley, and Billy Roof. They will meet at the church at 10 o’clock.

Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Taylor, Norman Sanders, Marshall Jeffers, Edwin Sessions, Donnie Watson, Boykin Rose, D. G. Jeffers, Furman K. Jeffers, Ira Goff, Fred Bookman, Glenn Jacobs and Earl Jacobs. They will meet at the church at 10:55.

The casket will be placed in the church at 10 o’clock.

Mr. Motley, 56, of 1504 Charlton Drive, farmer and member of the armed for years, died Thursday afternoon at the VA Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born near Blaney, a son of the late T. W. Motley and Minnie Rose Motley. He was a member of Union Baptist Church at Blaney.

Surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. Lucy Motley, Dentsville; a sister, Mrs. Clyde Session, Columbia; three half-sisters, Mrs. Paul Byers, Columbia, Mrs. Lillian Cauthen, Savannah, and Mrs. Vermell Palmer, Ohio; three brothers, D. D. Motley, Columbia, L. H. Motley and J. L. Motley, both of Blaney; and a half-brother, W. W. Motley, Charleston.
