CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of Caroline Hedwig Michaels, 94, will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip Lutheran Church in Myrtle Beach, S.C.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Philip Lutheran Church, 6200 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, S.C.  29572 or St. John’s United Methodist Church, 45, Roseborough Road Lugoff, S.C.  29078.

    Mrs. Michaels, wife of the late Robert Edward Michaels, Sr., passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Pinedale Residential Center.  Born in Jamaica, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Walter Strauss and Ammelia Johnasen Strauss.  She was a member of St. Philip Lutheran Church in Myrtle Beach and the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading.

    Surviving are her children, Christine Haff (Tom) of Lugoff, Patricia Lyons (Gary) of Palm Harbor, Fla., Karen Dotero of Oakridge, N.J. and Robert Edward Michaels, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brother, Robert Strauss of Oakdale, N.Y.; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
