Rites to Be Held For Iowa Man Sunday Afternoon at 2 o’Clock
Funeral services for John Lentz, 39, who died at a government hospital will be held from the McCormick mortuary at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. Wynne C. Boliek, pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, assisted by the Rev. H. A. McCullough, pastor of the St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Interment will be in the Lutheran churchyard.
Mr. Lentz was taken to the Atlanta hospital for treatment after he had received automobile injuries and death was the indirect result of the accident, it was said.
Although a native of Iowa, Mr. Lentz had long been a resident of Charleston. During his services in the World war, he was for a time stationed at Camp Jackson. Relatives of Mr. Lentz now living in Charleston will come here for the funeral.
He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Myrtle McLeandon of Blaney, and two sons, Harold Lentz and James Lentz, both of Charleston.
Pallbearers will be as follows: C. S. McConell, J. Reynolds, A. E. Williams, C. F. Sanderson, H. G. Strickland and a Mr. Smith.
BURIAL HERE FOR CHARLESTON MAN
John Lentz, World War Veteran, Was Stationed for Period at Camp Jackson.
John Lentz, 39, for a number of years a resident of Charleston, died at a goverment hospital in Atlanta, Ga., Thursday afternoon.
Funeral services will be held in Columbia, the body arriving here at 10 o’clock this morning. All arrangements for the services have not been completed and will be announced upon the arrival of relatives from Charleston and elsewhere.
Although a native of Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Lentz had lived in Charleston for a number of years. Following an automobile accident Mr. Lentz was taken to the Atlanta hospital for treatment. During his services in the war, he was stationed for a while at Camp Jackson.
He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Myrtle McLeandon of Blaney, and two sons, Harold Lentz and James Lentz, all of Charleston.

Mr. Lentz was admitted to the hospital in Atlanta when he was injured in an automobile accident. Part of his service in the World war was spent in training at Camp Jackson, Columbia.
