Obituary of Millie G. Branham
LUGOFF – Funeral service for Millie G. Branham, 87, will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church,PO Box 116, Elgin, S.C. 29045.
Mrs. Branham, wife of the late Frank W. Branham, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Born in Rome, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Charles B. Gilbreath and Alma Hawthorne Gilbreath. She retired from the Department of Mental Health and formerly worked for Skyline Manufacturing.
Mrs. Branham was a member of Union Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was a member of the Busy “B’s”. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling and bird watching.
Surviving are her children, Telina West (Van Hodgin), Barbara Schoonmaker (Tom), Carol Smith (Ronnie), and David Branham (Peggy); brother, Ralph Gilbreath (Alena); sister, Evelyn Little (Dick); grandchildren, Melinda Nourse (Kevin), Troy Jordan (Dea), Scott Fanning (Sherry), Donnie Jordan, Kelly Arledge (Trampes), Angel Fulk (Nate), Jason Smith (Lauren), Ryan Branham, Leslie Branham (Natosha), and Jeffrey West; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by son, Charles “Bo” Branham; daughter, Sylvia Jean Branham; brother, Donald Gilbreath; and sisters, Doris Brantley, Lillian Bryant, Nelda Campfield and Melba Gilbreath.
The family extends a special thanks to the Doctors and staff of 6 West at Palmetto Health Richland, especially Julie , Erica, and her caregivers, Virginia Addison, and Donna Branham for their loving care.
