GOVERNOR NAMES STATE CONSTABLES

Reappoints Jeanes Head of Constabulary and Entire Force

Governor Johnston yesterday reapointed J. Henry Jeanec, chief of the state Constabulary, together with the other members of the constabulary, 25 in all. The reappointments were to be effective until November 1, 1936.

Appointees were, in addition to Chief Jeanes: A. Roy Ashley, Columbia; H. C. Bethea, McColl; Roland T. Clary, Gaffney; B. Cantelou, Trenton; J. A. Frier, Columbia; C. E. Gardner, Orangeburg; Manley Gregory, Lancaster: Robert F. Grice, Greenville; R. E. Griffith, Pageland; Joe H. Harbin, Anderson; G. Cleveland Hays, Pauline; W. B. Hildebrand, St. Matthews: Joe H. Hinton, Greenwood; DeWitt Huckabee, Chester; M. B. Hugins, Jr., Timmonsville; T. H. Hydrick, Ruffin; A. M. Lightsey, Brunson; O. B. Limehouse, St. George; Frankie O. Meyer, Columbia; Sam K. Miller, Spartanburg; J. D. Munn, Bishopville; J. E. Thomas, Spartanburg; W. J. Thompson, Langley; Tommie G. Thompson, Greenville; Charles M. Whistnant, Greenville.

Among other recent appointments made by the Governor were: Alton B. Nelson, Blaney, magistrate for lower Wateree township, Kershaw county, vice J. D. Watson, resigned.

George B. Yonce, Johnston, magistrate at Johnston, Edgefield county, vice C. H. Workman, deceased.

Constables serving with compensation from the state until October 1, 1936; W. D. Wilson, Kingstree, and Walter Poster of Johnsonville.

Game wardens for South Carolina: Bernard Gahagan, Ritter; J. Irwin Harthorne, Due West: S. M. Crosby, Walterboro; W. B. Nettles, Walterboro.
