Norvell Thomas Benton, IV of Hopkins, South Carolina | 1947 – 2022 | Obituary

Norvell Thomas Benton, IV, age 75, died on Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was the son of the late Norvell Thomas Benton, III, and Ethel Fightmaster Benton.

Tom is survived by his wife, Linda Mayo Benton; son, Sherman Benton (Stephanie), of Elgin; grandchildren, Austin Benton, of Bishopville, and Jacob Benton, of Elgin.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman.  He loved hunting and fishing and loved teaching his grandchildren to enjoy the outdoors. 

Funeral services will be held at Blaney Baptist Church on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 4:00 PM.  The family will receive friends at 3:00 PM before the service in the church.   Memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, PO Box 305,  Elgin, SC 29045 or Oliver Gospel Mission, 1100 Taylor Street, Columbia, SC 29201, or www.olivergospel.org.
