Funeral service for Ernest Lee Roberts will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Spears Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Avery Brownlow. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the residence and the Talbert-Shives Funeral Home.

Mr. Roberts, 60, died yesterday in the Baptist Hospital from injuries received Nov. 13 when his car collided with a truck on I-20 near Pontiac.

He was born in Kershaw county, a son of the late Frank Roberts and Ella Hornsby Roberts. He was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church and the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class. He was the owner and operator of Roberts Community Store near Elgin.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Pace Roberts; a son, Lloyd E. Roberts of Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Mae Napper of Dillion, Mrs. Etta Ray of Lancaster and Mrs. Nezzie Jordan of Camden; and four brothers, Logan H. Roberts of Heath Springs, Jack B. Roberts of Camden, Luther B. Roberts of Pleasant Hill and Woodrow W. Roberts of Augusta, Ga.

Elgin Man Dies Of Injuries

A 60-year-old Elgin man died at Baptist Hospital Tuesday from injuries he suffered Nov. 13 when his car collided with a truck.

Richland County Coroner Cecil Wiles identifies the victim as Ernest Roberts of Route 2, box 101-A, Elgin. The wreck occured on I-20 near Pontiac.

Roberts died at Baptist Hospital Tuesday afternoon Wiles said, the case is still under investigation.

Mr. Roberts was born in Kershaw county, a son of the late Frank Roberts and Ella Hornsby Roberts. He was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church and the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class. He was the owner and operator of Roberts Community Store near Elgin.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pearl Pace Roberts; a son, Lloyd E.
