Obituary of Rev. Richard M. Cameron

CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of The Rev. Richard Manning Cameron, 80, will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at New Life Christian Outreach. A private burial will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Christian Outreach, 411 US-601, Lugoff, S.C. 29078.

Pastor Cameron passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Willie M. Cameron and Margaret Powers Cameron.  He retired as a supervisor from DuPont after 30 years of service.  Pastor Cameron founded New Life Christian Outreach in 1982 and served as the pastor until 2017.  His ministry had no walls as he blessed so many in the community with his teachings and singing.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Janice Crolley Cameron; daughter, Cindy Cameron of Camden; grandchildren, Mannie Boy Cameron III and Simone Stoll; sisters, Shirley Cogdill, Joyce McDonald, Judy King and Jane Parker (Richard);  sisters-in-law, Dianne Gillis and Brenda Burriss; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Crolley (Juwan) and Phil Crolley (Cindy).  He was predeceased by his son, Mannie Cameron.
