Alvin Lee Tans, age 77, died on August 22, 2023. He was born in Fremont, MI to the late Marvin Tans and Joan Deters Tans.  A memorial service at New Hope Church, 9025 Liberty Hill Road, Camden, SC, is scheduled at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 3, 2023.  Pastor Lyn Hill will officiate. The service will be live-streamed on New Hope Church website, www.newhopecamden.com. 

Alvin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Broersma Tans; his twin brother Allen Lee Tans (Sharon), of Kalamazoo, MI., Jay Tans (Sharlene), of Ypsianti, MI, Gordan Tans (Peggy), of Green Valley, AZ,  and sister-in-law, Tammy Tans of Hudsonville, MI.

Alvin is predeceased by his brother, Mark Tans.

Al was recently very engaged and passionate about being a member of the SC Kershaw County Baptist Disaster Relief group. These people travel to areas hit hard by natural disasters such as the recent flooding in Vermont. They work to make the homes livable again and bring encouragement and spiritual help to the victims.
