Obituary

John Henry Tucker was born November 28, 1964, in Blaney, in Kershaw County, South Carolina.  He was the beloved son of John Thomas Tucker and Nancy Dixon Tucker.  He departed this life on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.

John was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County.  He was employed at the “House of Pizza” in Elgin, until his health declined.

At an early age he was baptized in Jesus’ Name.  John also enjoyed singing, and he sang with a group called “The Singing Community Brothers.”

Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his father, John T. Tucker; and sisters, Debera L. Osborne and Francenia Shelpard.

Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories are his loving wife of seven years, Selisa Tucker of Columbia, SC; son, John Henry Tucker III; children in love, Anthony Delmarvin Smith and Dawn E. Scott, all of Columbia, SC; three (3) grandchildren; his caring mother, Nancy D. Tucker; brothers, Jasper (Vanessa) Tucker and Joseph Tucker; sister, Dorothy (Eugene) Nelson; uncle, John Dixon; aunts, Grace (John) Outten, Jeannette Dixon and Joyce (James) Dixon; five (5) godchildren; special friends, John Disher and Trip Disher; and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by his untimely departure.
