Mrs. Medlin Dies At Her Home Near Pontiac
Mrs. Florence Jacobs Medlin, 73, of near Pontiac, died Sunday night at her home.
She was born in Pontiac, the daughter of the late William P. and Martha Ann Jacobs, and was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church. She was the widow of C. R. Medlin.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Roy Hornsby of Pontiac, Mrs. Joe Youngblood of Columbia, and Mrs. Ordis Bullock of Bessmer, Ala.; two sons, Bert Medlin, Gary, Ind., and Earl Jacobs of Pontiac; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Meetz of Columbia, and Mrs. Eula Coleman of Rt. 2, Blaney, 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Spears Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. George E. Walker. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Raford Coleman, Willie Coleman, Collie Rose, Collins Medlin, Eugene (Buck) Jacobs and Martin Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Stricker, Harold Lippard, Melvin Youngblood, S. L. Youngblood, L. W. Youngblood, Dr. C. G. Spivey, Sr., Dr. T. H. Hopkins, Thurston Goff, Chavis Ellisor, Jack Stewart, Howell Ross, George Elkin, Claude Tucker, M. C. (Doc) Brown, Walter Delk, Carl Schumpert, Henry Tiller, H. L. Medlin, Judson Roof, Ansel Horne, L. W. Smith, W. B. Grisby, Sr., and the deacons of Spears Creek Baptist Church.
The body will remain at the Paschal Funeral Home until Tuesday.
