William Jesse Lee Rites Set Saturday
Funeral services for William Jesse Lee will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Spears Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. J. N. Williams and the Rev. L. F. Steele. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Lee, 71, of Rt. 1, Columbia, died Wednesday in the Columbia Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Active pallbearers will be W. D. Grimsley, Ware Carnes, Eugene Brazell, Earl Jacobs, Lonnie Jacobs and Bill Wise.
Honorary pallbearers will be J. H. (Bud) Faust, H. T. Dixon, Luther Ford, Roy Hornsby, Lee Peake, Everette Stockman, Walter Delk, James Dunaway, Roger Ellisor and Chikus Ellsor.
The body is at the Lee residence, Rt. 1, Columbia.

Mr. Lee, 71, of Rt. 1, Columbia, died Wednesday morning at the Columbia Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Richland County, son of the late John and Mary McGill Lee. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hattie Lee; two daughters, Miss Joanne Lee and Mrs. Mary Shelton, of Columbia; seven sons, Steuard, McGee, Louis, Carlisle, Otis and Ottis Lee of Columbia and Langford Lee of Durham, N. C.; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Cain of North Augusta, Mrs. Mattie Clausand of Columbia, Mrs. Sallie Martin of Atlanta, Miss Maggie Lee of Spartanburg and Mrs. Lottie Perkins of Tennessee, and one brother, Wesley Lee.
