Elfreida Roper Obituary
Elfreida Kirkley Roper, age 103, passed away on January 18, 2024 in Spartanburg, SC. A native of Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Edward and Edith Truesdale Kirkley. Mrs. Roper was predeceased by her husband, Hammond Craig Roper, her son, Sidney Craig Roper, and four sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Roper was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church and very active in her Sunday School class. She made numerous trips with the Young at Heart Group when it was organized in the 80’s. During her younger years, she enjoyed traveling, reading, and entertaining family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Diane Fuller, and two grandchildren, Michael Lee Fuller (wife, Brenda) and Sherry Lynn Fuller.
A graveside service for family and friends will be conducted by Mark Derr at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on April 8, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Family will receive friends at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, from 10:30 AM-11:00 AM, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020, or to a charity of one’s choice.
