Dora Lee Johnson Mingo Obituary

Dora Lee Johnson Mingo, 95, departed this life on March 27, 2024. She was affectionately acknowledged as “DOLL”, by her close family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Henry Belton and Amanda Catoe Johnson.

Mrs. Mingo was educated in the Kershaw County School System.

Mrs. Mingo began her working career at a young age. She retired after many years of service from Springs Memorial Hospital, now MUSC Health Lancaster.

Mrs. Mingo was preceded in death by her lifelong husband Ulysses Mingo Sr, son Ulysses Mingo, Jr., five sisters, and seven brothers.

Mrs. Mingo leaves to cherish fond memories her life one daughter, Shelby Carter (James) of Lancaster SC.; two sons, James Edward Mingo and Charles Henry Johnson both of Lancaster, SC; three sisters, Willie Mae Drakeford, Mary McCoy and Inell Wright (George) twelve grandchildren; twenty–one great grandchildren; four sisters -in- law, two brothers – in – law; special niece, Gwendolyn McCoy and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 3850 Stoneboro Road Heath Springs, SC.

Viewing will be 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Stewart Funeral Home
