DAC meeting Feb. 22, 23 at Town House

The 55th assembly of the South Carolina Society, Daughters of the American Colonists, will meet Feb. 22 and 23 at the Town House.

Mrs. C. Howard Reinhard, state regent, will preside. Mrs. Horace T. Jacobs, state first vice regent, will be assembly chairman and Mrs. William E. Henderson Sr., of the Cornelius Keith chapter, will be assembly treasurer.

Registration begins Feb. 22 at 9:30 a.m. The state board meeting at 9:30 a.m. will be followed by the Colonists State Officers Club Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. All state officers, past and present, are invited to attend the meeting. Reservation may be sent, with check, by Feb. 18 to Mrs. Jack L. Nye, 305 Asalea Drive, Mullins, S. C. 29574. Dues are payable to Mrs. William T. Wade, officers club treasurer.

A social house will be held at 6 p.m. in the hospitality suite before the 7 p.m. banquet. Husbands, friends and relative are invited. Reservations should be sent, with check, by Feb. 18 to Mrs. W. E. Henderson, assembly treasurer, Route 6, Woodruff Road, Box 114, Greenville, S. C. 29607.

Registration will continue at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 23. The state assembly will convene at 10 a.m. Reports of state officers, state chairmen and chapter regents will be given. New state officers will be elected and installed. A memorial service will be conducted at noon by the state chaplain, Mrs. Douglas E. Fagan.

At 1 p.m., the state luncheon will feature Rep. Floyd Spence, the Republican congressman from teh Second District. Reservation must be sent to Mrs. Henderson for the luncheon.

Hostesses for the assembly will be the Cherokee Chapter of Spartanburg, the Cornelius Keith Chapter from Pickens and the Piedmont Chapter of Greenville.
