Obituary of Willard Ham
CAMDEN – Funeral service for Willard Ham, 98, will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Ham, husband of the late Lillian Pauline Hill Ham, passed away at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro. Born in Darlington, S.C, he was the son of the late Chestly Ham and Cleo Tolson Ham. He was a WWII veteran and served in the United States Navy where he was a Seabee. He also served in the National Guard. He retired from the Hermitage Cotton Mill. He enjoyed gardening, going to flea markets and yard sales, and sitting on his porch.
Surviving are his children, Carolyn Harper of Flint, Michigan, Carson Ham (Connie) of Camden, Gayle Smith of Camden, Linda Colburg of Saginaw, Michigan, and Ricky Ham of Camden; sisters, Rosa Lee Lyles of Charlotte, N.C. and Maggie Altman of Hartsville, S.C.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter, Jackie Ham McClintock; step-daughter, Peggy Jean Johnson; stepson, David Hatchell; and brothers, Edward Ham, Roy Ham, Darrell Ham, Franklin Ham, Fred Allen “Buddy” Ham, and James Ham.
