Funeral services for Harry Gresham Barker will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, 1112 Fair Street. Reverends Ralph Sims and Buddy Rainwater will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 6-7:30 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.
Harry passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Born in Conway, SC, he was the son of the late Harry Graves Gresham, Gilbert Earl Barker, and Eloise Hucks Barker. Harry was a 1963 graduate of Conway High School, and after, attended Clemson University receiving a BS degree in Agricultural Economics in 1967. He began his career in agricultural banking with PCA Farm Credit in Batesburg, SC eventually moving to the Kershaw County office in Camden. After serving at Farm Credit, Harry worked with The ALPHA Behavioral Health Center in Camden, where he retired.
Harry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Brenda Farmer Barker; daughter, Charlotte Mayconich (Joseph) of Camden; son, Gresham Barker (Cheryl) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Hannon, Adaya, Carson, and Morgan; brothers, Bob Barker (Rosalind) of Pawley’s Island, SC and Dan Barker (Luanne) of Pleasant Garden, NC.
