Jessie Lee Harris, born on February 28, 1930, in Kershaw County, SC, to the late Eddie and Racheal Harris, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center. Jessie was educated in the Kershaw County public school system. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a young age, as a member of Ebenezer A.M.E Zion Church. She was a cherished member of White Oak Baptist Church, where she served as senior choir leader, Sunday school superintendent, member of the missionary ministry, and one of the mothers of the church. Jessie was known for her warm, kind spirit and her unwavering faith in God.

Jessie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Harris, Sr., and siblings, Creola Shropshire, Thomas Lee Harris, Rufus Harris, Louise Jackson, Sarah Foster, Nancy Cooper, Edward Harris, and Margaret Bufford, who are now reunited in peace.

Thoughout her life, Jessie demonstrated remarkable skills in landscaping, painting, carpentry, auto detailing, and homecare, with her famous coconut cake being a highlight of her culinary talents. Jessie made a lasting impact on everyone she met and will be fondly remembered for her creativity, dedication, and loving nature.

She is survived by her three sons; Frank Harris Jr., (Suncha) of Dayton, OH; Grover Harris (Kimberly) of Camden, SC; and Stanley Harris (Erica) of San Pedro, CA; and her two daughters; Rosezenia Harris-Belk of Lancaster, SC, and Catherine Harris of Laurel, MD. Jessie will be forever cherished by her eight grandchildren/ two step grandchildren and four great grandchildren/eleven step great-grandchildren, as well as siblings, brothers, Simon Harris of Heath Springs, SC, and English (Roy) Harris (Helen) of Columbia, SC, and sisters, Sylvesta Cook of Teaneck, NJ, and Melvina Rutledge (Herbert) of Heath Springs, SC, along with her two brothers-in-law, Levy Harris (Lucille) of Wake Forest, NC, and Artis Cliff Bufford of Kershaw, SC, and sister-in-law, Allie Harris, of Camden, SC. Additionally, Jessie leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
