Kenneth Ray “Ken” Faulkenberry, age 74 of Lancaster, S.C., passed away, Thursday, June 6, 2024, in the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, S.C. after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 8, 1949, in Camden, S.C. to the late James Arthur Faulkenberry and Annie Pauline Fagen Faulkenberry. He was a true entrepreneur. He owned his own real estate company for many years. Mr. Faulkenberry was strong in his faith and devoted to his family. He loved and supported his grandchildren in all their activities. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church, Lancaster, where he was a member of the Second Baptist Lancaster WHO Life Group Sunday School Class. He often could be found at Cromer’s Restaurant in Kershaw catching up with his friends several times a week. Even though he was not living in Kershaw, the people and Kershaw held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his daughter, Staci White and her husband, Stephen; 2 sons, Will Faulkenberry and his wife, Sherry and Ben Faulkenberry; his 5 adored grandchildren, Dillon White and his wife, Taylor, Emma Rae White, Logan Faulkenberry and his wife, Abigail, Karli Faulkenberry and Henry Faulkenberry; 1 great grandson, Walker White; 3 brothers, Charles R. Hollis and his wife, Shirley, J. Larry Faulkenberry and his wife, Jerry and Tim Faulkenberry and extended family; 2 sisters-in-law, Mildred Phillips and her husband, W.T., Judy Carnes and her husband, Sonny and Carol Taylor and his brothers-in-law, Billy Taylor and his wife, Shirley and Mike Vincent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Taylor Faulkenberry; 2 brothers in-law, Olin Taylor and Herman Taylor and his sister-in-law, Jean Vincent.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday afternoon, June 9, 2024, at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Catlin Rollins will officiate. The burial committal service will immediately follow the service in the Abney Baptist Church Cemetery, 5180 Bethune, Road, Kershaw, S.C. Donny Faulkenberry, Jay Faulkenberry, Logan Faulkenberry, Michael Faulkenberry, Greg Vincent and Dillon White will serve as pallbearers.
The family will greet friends following the burial committal service in the Abney Baptist Church Family Life Center and other times at the home of his daughter.
