Cassatt, July 6. – Mrs. Mattie West, wife of J. R. West, died Thursday morning at her home near Cassatt after a short illness. Mrs. West was Miss Jeffcoat before her marriage to J. R. West about 8 years ago. She is survived by her husband, two small children, her mother and five brothers and one sister. Mrs. West was a noble Christian woman, held in high esteem and loved and respected by her neighbors and all who knew her.
The funeral services were held at her home Friday morning by her pastor, the Rev. J. M. Forbis, and the burial was in the beautiful old cemetery at Camden.
