Obituary of Anthony Thomas Brock, Sr

Lake Wylie – Funeral service for Anthony Thomas Brock, Sr., 76, will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Kellytown Baptist Church in Hartsville, S.C.  The family will receive friends Monday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.

Mr. Brock passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024.  Born in Lumberton, N.C., he was the son of the late Thomas Vander Brock and Alice Catherine Sellers Brock.  He received his associates degree from Marlboro Technical College and was employed with S&ME Engineering-Charlotte, N.C.  He was a member of Kellytown Baptist Church in Hartsville, S.C.  Mr. Brock enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, hunting, gardening, lawn care and fishing.  He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Cathy C. Brock; children, Amanda Michelle Brock of Lake Wylie, Thomas Johnathan Brock of Charleston, S.C., and Alice K. Brock of Lake Wylie; special daughter, Amanda Johnson of Patrick; sisters, Cathy B. Hopkins of Camden and Anita B. Ventura of Hartsville; brothers, Ivan Brock of Hartsville, Gregg Huggins of Hemingway, and James Flowers of Hartsville; grandchildren, Thomas Brock II, Anthony T. Brock Jr., Hazely R. Brock II, Valentina Brock, and Sophia Brock; special nieces, Crystal Flowers, Heather Collins, Christine Sanders and Rachel Weyandt; and special great-nieces, Kaylee and Maya Sanders.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Vanessa B. Huggins.
