Obituary of Carolyn Yvonne Hill

LUGOFF- A celebration of life service for Carolyn Yvonne Hill, 58, will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Davis will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

    Ms. Hill passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late John Hill, Sr. and Catherine Burkett Hill. Ms. Hill was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outside, sitting on her porch, and watching Heat of the Night and Walker Texas Ranger. She also enjoyed shopping and especially spending time with her family.

    Surviving are her daughters, Monica Neshelle Hill of Winnsboro, Deanna Latoya Hill of Lugoff; a sister, Ula Hill of Lugoff; grandchildren, Arthur Naser Thompson, Amari James Thompson, De’onta Latrell Hill, Isaiah Dreyson Hill, Noah Zion Hill; and a great-grandchild, Nasir A. Hill. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Catherine Hill, Louvina Hill, Dorothy Hill all of Lugoff; and brothers, John Albert Hill, Robert Hill, Charlie Hill, James Hill and Michael Hill all of Lugoff.
