Brenda Toney Obituary

Brenda was born on August 23,1952 in Bishopville, South Carolina in Lee County. She was the oldest child born to late Mr. Lemuel James Joe, Sr and Mrs. Lois McDonald Joe. She departed this life on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Prisma Health.

Brenda gave her life to the Lord at an early age, and was baptized at Sardis Baptist Church in Camden, South Carolina. She was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County in Camden, South Carolina and graduated from Camden High School, Class of 1971.

Brenda’s senior year of high school she drove buses for the Kershaw County School District. While driving buses, she met Curtis T. McClester and they started dating. Shortly after dating, the two wed in holy matrimony. From their union they gave birth to two beautiful children, Angela and Victor. 
 

Years later, Brenda remarried and birthed her baby girl, Syretta, from her second husband, Harold Toney, Jr.
 

Brenda began her career at E.I Dupont in Lugoff, South Carolina in 1973 where she worked for 20 years. Brenda worked in the Spinning Department as a “Spinner”. After leaving Dupont, Brenda moved to Columbia, South Carolina and started working for Sam’s Wal-Mart where she worked until she retired.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brothers, Lemuel James Joe, Jr. and Ronald Joe.
