Obituary of Jimmie Lee Register
LUGOFF- A graveside service for Jimmie Lee Register, 88, will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Scott Hall will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 1062 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, S.C. 29078 or a veteran organization of your choosing.
Mr. Register passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Born in Kinston, N.C., he was a son of the late Harper James Register, Sr. and Flora Ellis Register. Mr. Register served in the U.S. Army after which he attended Campbell University. He retired from Builders Transport as V.P. of Risk Management. Jimmie was active in his church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer. At the time of his death, he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Lugoff. He enjoyed reading and watching TV, especially golf, history and politics.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Ruth Lennon Register; daughters, Marsha Kunz (John), Myra Hall (Scott); grandchildren, Megan Kunz Cook (Adam), Matthew Kunz (Samantha), Miranda Hall; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Melba Register; brother, Harper J. Register, Jr.; and sisters, Kathleen Byrd, Gladys Wall and Faye Harkins.
