Thomas Flowers Obituary
Mr. Thomas “Guitar Man” Flowers Sr. entered into rest on January 8th, 2025, in Camden SC. Thomas was born November 23, 1940, to the late Emmett Flowers and Katie Flowers Whaley.
He attended Jackson High in Camden, South Carolina. Thomas was a Master Forklift Operator for many years before retiring and going into the Pawn Business, where he met and touched countless lives.
Mr. Flowers was a member of the Household of Faith Holiness Church of the Living God, Pillar and Ground of Truth, House of Prayer for All People, INC of Camden SC for over seventy years. He began his journey ministering through music. The Chief Musician appointed by God through the late great Bishop E. D. Sanders, founder of the organization. He was later ordained a Deacon under this same great leadership. Thomas was blessed with the anointed gift of hands through prayer, bringing inspiration and joy to every worship service with an original style of music, he’s known for his famous “OPEN – KEY”. He mentored many guitarists throughout South Carolina and within the body of Christ. He enjoyed playing alongside many other great musicians of this organization and others. His faithfulness and love for God kept him dutiful. Having over seventy years of service and dedication to God and his House ministering through music, songs, prayers, and much more, Thomas gave his all.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca A Williams; four brothers, Richard, Robert, Reuben and Randy Flowers; two sisters, Lucy Flowers and Lucinda Brown.
Mr. Thomas Flowers was married to his devoted wife Geneva Flowers for 64 years and leaves to cherish his memory alongside her, his ten beautiful children, Mae Helen (Richard) Murphy, Isaac Emmett (Lee) Flowers, Thomasina Brown-Murphy all of Camden SC, Mary A. (Johnny) Johnson of Bishopville SC, Barbara J. (Donovan) Wilson of Wilmington, Delaware, Larry W. (Lakesha) Flowers, Thomas Flowers Jr, Loran F. Wills, Steven M. D. Flowers, Sandra Y. (James) Carlos all of Camden SC; two Godsons, Jermaine Whack of Bishopville SC and Pharez Singleton of Chester SC; 32 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Flowers of Florida; two sisters, Isabele DuBose of Camden SC and Bessie (John) Wright of Sumter SC; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and others.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 19, 2025,at the Household of Faith Convention Center (8031 Black River Road, Rembert, SC 29128.)
