Six Rock Hill -area teams will wrestle Monday night in the quarterfinals of the S.C. High School League’s dual meet playoffs.
Three of those teams – all of them top seeds in their divisions – will be at home.
And another area team, also a No. 1 seed, will be home Tuesday in the semifinals of the girls’ wrestling dual meet playoffs.
Two-time defending 5A state champion Fort Mill is one of the survivors.
The Yellow Jackets , top-seeded in Class 5A/Division 2, and South Pointe, the top seed in Class 4A, each will wrestle Monday in their own gyms.
Also seeing action in the quarterfinals will be Clover in 5A/Division 1; Indian Land in 5A/Division 2; Buford, the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A Lower State; and Chester in 2A Upper State. Indian Land will travel to Fort Mill for its quarterfinal. Buford will be home against Lake City . Chester travels to Chesnee .
In the girls’ playoffs, Rock Hill will host fourth seed Blythewood on Tuesday. Rock Hill has won the S.C. High School League’s only two girls’ dual meet playoff titles, in 2023 and 2024.
All of the survivors had to win at least one match Saturday.
In 5A/Division 1, Clover got a first-round bye as the No. 4 seed, and the Blue Eagles beat Byrnes 48-26 in Round 2.
Fort Mill had a first-round bye but trounced Catawba Ridge 52-18 in the second round. Indian Land also had a first-round bye and advanced with a victory over T.L. Hanna
.
South Pointe beat Wren 57-26 in Round 1 and had a tough second-round battle, edging Westside 40-38. The Stallions host No. 4 seed Fountain Inn on Tuesday.
