Services for Marion P. Wannamaker, 78, will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday February 5, 2010 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium Lexington Chapel with a 2:00 pm burial in Old Methodist Cemetery in St. Matthews, SC. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice P.O. Box 7275 Columbia, SC 29209, Alzheimer’s Association 2999 Sunset Blvd. West Columbia, SC 29169 and The Carolina Children Home 3201 Trenholm Rd. Columbia, SC 29204.

Mrs. Wannamaker passed away January 29, 2010 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Columbia, SC she was the daughter of the late Marion LeRoy and Sue Belle Porter. She was a graduate of North Greenville Academy class of 1949, attended Winthrop College for two years, class of 1953 and was a member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church. She worked for 50 years alongside her husband in his Dental practice.
Mrs. Wannamaker was the wife of the late Dr. Robert L. Wannamaker. She is survived by her sons, Robert S. Wannamaker and partner of 22 years Jamie L. White of Columbia and Marion Woods Wannamaker and Maureen D. Dwyer of Bolton MA; grandchildren, Natalie Lanier and Tyler Woods Wannamaker of Bolton, MA., aunt, Mildred R. Porter of Elgin, brother-in-law William F. Wannamaker (Rowena) of Columbia.
