Firefighters responded twice to a house fire on Greenbriar Drive on Thursday.
Several volunteer fire stations were first called to the blaze about 11 a.m., said Darren Player, deputy director of Lancaster County Emergency Management and Fire Service.
Antioch, Elgin and Camp Creek fire departments responded with trucks and equipment, while Buford Volunteer Fire Department assisted with man power.
When firefighters arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames, Player said. Part of the roof collapsed in the blaze.
No one was home at the time of the fire, but the resident, Johnnie Mae Nesbit, returned as firefighters fought the blaze, Player said.
The Lancaster County American Red Cross was called to assist her.
Player did not know the cause of the fire.
Firefighters returned to the scene several hours later when the fire flared up again, he said.
