Obituary of Bobby James Haggins

Mr. Bobby James Haggins, son of the late Tom and Mell Haggins was born August 13, 1940 in Lee County, SC.

He attended the public schools of Lee County and retired from Catoe Logging Company. His favorite things to do were playing his guitar and watching Lester Holt on the NBC Nightly News.

He was a devoted husband to his wife Maggie W. Haggins, and to this union four children were born; the late James Wright (Philanthia) of Lancaster, SC, the late Vernell Haggins (Darlene) of Kershaw, SC, Bobby Lee Haggins, Jr (Liz) of Bethune, SC; and one daughter, Rosa M. Haggins of Bishopville, SC; five grandchildren, Justin D. Haggins, Jamie Wright, Sequan Philips, Jamethia Stewart, and the late Lynnita Hough. 

He was predeceased in death by his wife Maggie W. Haggins; two sons, James Wright, Vernell Haggins; granddaughter Lynnita Hough; his parents Tom and Mell Haggins; two brothers, Lavern Haggins, and Kennedy Haggins; four sisters, Ruby Mae Debose, Cherry Ann Reeves, Sarah Drakeford, and Flora Jane Shannon.

Left to cherish his memories, son, Bobby Lee Haggins, Jr.; daughter, Rosa M. Haggins; grandson, Justin D. Haggins; four brothers Wallace Haggins (Sarah), Tommy Lee Haggins (Bernice), Eddie Haggins, and Thomas Haggins; two sisters, Mary Ann Haggins,  and Brenda Spann; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives; friends; and a special friend of the family, Iris Jones.

He ended his journey on Monday, February 24, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
