Bethune, March 13. – Miss Katie Bethune of this place died yesterday about 12 o’clock. Miss Bethune was the oldest person in this section, or probably in Kershaw county. Had she lived only a short while longer her age would have been 99 years. She was an aunt of Messrs. D. M. and N. A. Bethune, prominent citizens and both former members of the house from this county.
Mr. W. S. Smith, a prominent citizen of this community, died Sunday morning of pneumonia.
